Empowering Black Professionals Through Mentorship

About this Event:

This session is part of Celebrating Black in Tech, a two-day summit where you'll hear from Black leaders across the globe within different industries, sharing their expertise, personal stories, and best practices as leaders in their fields. Check out the full schedule here!

Mentors have a critical role to play in developing the next generation of entrepreneurs and talent. Too often, black professionals lack access to these supportive mentors, which can lead to missed opportunities in building skills, discovering career pathways, or creating and nurturing successful businesses.

Having a mentor can significantly elevate your professional life at the individual and company level, so how can we ensure we're using mentorship to empower black professionals? We'll be gathering a panel of those have been on both sides of the coin - mentors and mentees - on how mentorship has enhanced their journey. Our lineup will discuss:

  • How to find a mentor and how to serve as a valuable mentor

  • How mentoring can help your L&D and DEI strategy as a company

  • Mentorship best (and worst!) practices
